Congratulations to the TCMS Jazz Band for receiving a Superior Rating today at the Northern Regional West Virginia Jazz Festival!
This group has had a busy few days, and their hard work over the past several months has truly paid off. They have been dedicated to perfecting their selections and absolutely earned this recognition! This marks the first time the TCMS Jazz Band has participated in this state event, making their achievement even more impressive.
We are incredibly proud of you and your outstanding accomplishments this year!
Pictured below are jazz band members:
First row: Jayden Long, Bryleigh Owens, Emily Gist, Chloe Kinsey, Abigail Jacenkiw, Michael Cooper, Conner Saegar, Analea Lydick, Ty Camerlin.
Second row: Jace Hupp, Jennifer Haught, Emma Cooper, Kaylee Cottrell, Addison Morris, Connor Sutton, Parker Zwick, Stevie Torman, and Hayleigh Gum.

Our TCMS Jazz Band had an incredible experience performing at Marshall University and participating in a clinic with jazz artist Jesse Nolan! This performance was a fantastic preparation for the Northern Region State Jazz Festival at University High School in Morgantown this Saturday.
At the festival, bands receive valuable feedback from judges, helping them fine-tune their skills before their official rating at the state festival. Great job, TCMS Jazz Band!

This week our student body voted on their favorite agenda book cover designs created by their classmates.
We are excited to announce that Marilyn Foltz (pictured on the right) has designed the winning cover for the 2025-2026 school year. Congratulations to Marilyn!
Additionally, Addison Morris (not pictured, design in the center) earned 2nd place, and Pheonix Harris (pictured left) secured 3rd place.

Good luck to the TCMS Jazz Band today as they travel to Huntington to participate in the 56th Annual Marshall University Winter Jazz Festival.

Don't forget about the long weekend for Tyler County Schools! There will be no school on Friday 2/28 or Monday 3/3. Enjoy the weekend!

A generator will be delivered today. Cooks have a designated parking spot out back. All other vehicles must park in the lower lots.

Our TASK students have been hard at work growing fresh lettuce in our hydroponic towers, and today their efforts paid off in a big way. They sold their homegrown lettuce to the Tyler County Schools nutrition program, and it was served on the salad bar during both middle and high school lunches. It’s exciting to see students engaged in hands-on learning that directly benefits our school community. Great job to everyone involved in making this project a success!

Students in Mrs. T Paden's science class had an exciting hands-on learning experience as they dissected owl pellets to explore food chains and ecosystems! By examining the remains of an owl’s diet, they discovered how predators, prey, and the environment are all connected. It was a fascinating way to bring science to life and spark curiosity about the natural world!

What an accomplishment! The following students have completed the entire iReady math program! This indicates that they are achieving beyond the 8th grade level and we couldn’t be more proud of their hard work!

We are so grateful for the wonderful experience our 7th grade students in Ms. Cooper's class had at Disney on Ice last Friday at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center! Their energy was contagious as they sang along to their favorite songs and enjoyed a delicious lunch together. It's moments like these that create lasting memories and reinforce the joy of learning and connection. Thank you to everyone who made this opportunity possible!
