Big thanks to Pickering Associates of Parkersburg who came to speak with Mrs. Boso’s and Mrs. Wright’s DYF classes today. They learned a little about the company, the types of jobs they offer and degrees needed, and also participated in a STEM project - rain gutter regatta. Students worked in small groups to design and build a boat using recycled materials. In a little friendly competition, students competed to see whose boat would make it to one end from the other the quickest. Congrats to our winning group of Wyatt, Carter, Bryson, Jarrett, and Kaden!

Today our 8th grade class went on their field trip to Kennywood in Pittsburgh, PA, for their Education Day. They had a blast!
The lines were short, the weather was great, and the kids spent the day riding rides, hanging out with friends, and enjoying everything the park had to offer. It was the perfect way to make some lasting memories before the end of the school year.
A big thank you to our staff and chaperones for helping make the trip such a fun and successful day! #KnightsPride

What an incredible first week of State Testing! We are SO proud of our students for the focus and effort they put into their Writing Assessment — they truly gave it their all! ✍️💪
Next up: the Math Assessment is coming next week! ➕➖✖️➗
Let’s keep the momentum going — keep working hard, stay confident, and continue showing the world just how amazing you are! You got this!

Students in Mrs Weekley's 7th grade honors math class used proportional reasoning and shadow length to determine the height of the flag pole out front. Every group got between 28 and 35 feet, which seems reasonable.

Our National Junior Honor Society Induction Ceremony was held this afternoon, and we’re proud to announce that 27 outstanding seventh graders were officially inducted into the TCMS chapter. These students will serve as NJHS members during their 8th grade year, upholding the core values that are the foundation of the NJHS pledge: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Citizenship, and Character.
A special thank you to Mrs. Strode, our NJHS Advisor, for organizing such a meaningful ceremony to honor these high-achieving students and their commitment to excellence both in and out of the classroom. #KnightsPride

Our TCMS Lady Knights Softball team spent the day exploring Ohio University's campus in Athens, OH! They learned about student life at OU, college admissions, and what it means to be a Bobcat! From a Q&A with the OU softball coaches to a behind-the-scenes tour of athletic facilities, a campus tour, and an admissions session, it was an incredible opportunity to see what life after high school can look like.
The girls wrapped up the day with lunch in uptown Athens and will finish strong by cheering on the Ohio University Bobcats vs. The Ohio State University Buckeyes tonight at the softball game!
Big thanks to the OU staff for hosting and inspiring our student-athletes, and thank you to Coach Farrell and Coach Henthorn for organizing this valuable learning experience! #KnightsPride

We are proud to recognize Patrick Jones and Damien Dawson as Tyler Consolidated Middle School’s 2025 Golden Horseshoe winners.
The Golden Horseshoe is one of West Virginia’s most prestigious academic honors, awarded to eighth-grade students who demonstrate exceptional knowledge of our state’s history, government, and culture. Established in 1931, this tradition celebrates students who exemplify academic excellence and a deep understanding of West Virginia’s heritage.
On June 10, 2025, Patrick and Damien will represent TCMS in Charleston, WV, at the Golden Horseshoe Ceremony—a tradition that honors young scholars who have shown exceptional knowledge of our state. With a ceremonial sword tap, they’ll join the ranks of students across nearly a century who have made their mark on West Virginia history through academic distinction.
We also want to recognize the dedication of their West Virginia Studies teacher, Mr. Underwood, whose passion for our state’s history and commitment to preparing students for this opportunity continues to inspire excellence year after year!
